The Goldilocks Pitch

Our next stop was in Gorlitz which wasn’t a long drive. The parking area next to the sport ground was a great spot. It had some good walks for the dog, lots of grass for throwing balls, sticks and a little obedience. The tram stop took us into town one day but it was pretty boring so we came back after a short stay. The local supermarket was excellent and only a five minute walk.

Here’s Vaea checking what’s going on outside.

Next we moved onto a farm track just outside the town of Stolpen. The castle here was a prison for a mistress, Countess Cosel, of Augustus the Strong. She was there for most of her life!

The farm track looked to be nicely secluded but for the three days I was parked there, we had a steady stream of tractors and harvesters working the land. Nobody pestered us though.

On Saturday we drove into Dresden and had a walk round the city. Most of it has been rebuild following the destruction of the second world war. Though, not until after re-unification. The weather was warm so a cold beer in a cafe was most welcome.

Here’s a shed load of photos from Dresden. It bust be like having to sit through a non ending stream of holiday photos for you…..sorry!

From Dresden we drove to Colditz. I told my kids and they had no idea what it was. Seems to have been a memorable part of my childhood. Maybe the film, maybe the board game!

Someone in the town figured out to ensure they get a decent mobile phone signal in their bedroom.
